Acceptance & Accepting the Unacceptable

I accept that my body is 80 & there are many things I can no longer do. I accept that I have learned so much in my life my brain struggles to remember a lot. I accept that birth & death is common to everyone. Most people have problems during their life. Most people suffer discomfort & pain at some point. Most people can deal with it & hopefully there is help for those who cannot.

Acceptance in some form is acceptable. There is no point in kicking against something you cannot control.

What I do not accept is what is going on in so many countries in the world. The Israeli Palestine conflict. the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Sudan civil war....Also worrying human rights violations in China, North Korea, India....All of these are situations we see clearly played out on our screens daily, reported on by reputable sources. We cannot say we do not know. We should not say there is nothing I can do.

We can all make our voices heard by demonstrating, by signing petitions, by lobbying politicians who do have power. We can use social media honestly & effectively. We can donate money to help, we can give things to charity as well as money. We need to stand up & be counted. We have the voice that so many people are denied.

We should not be passive observers allowing others to both do things that are not acceptable, or do things on our behalf about the unacceptable. There is huge power in numbers. We should use it. If we don't we are complicit. In the same way that governments selling arms to Israel are complicit in what they are doing.

Many things are not black and white. There are usually grey areas. But when something is so obviously wrong we should not be standing on the touchline complaining about the referee. There is law & it is being visibly flouted.
